Yes, there are a few free software options you can use for Direct to Film (DTF) printing, though they may have limitations compared to paid RIP (Raster Image Processor) software like Acrorip, Cadlink Digital Factory, or EKPrint. Here are some options:
Free & Open-Source DTF Software
- GoRip (Limited Free Version) – Some older versions are available online.
- Photopea (Web-based) – A free Photoshop alternative for preparing images (but not a full RIP software).
- GIMP (Open-source) – Can be used for designing and prepping prints, but lacks proper RIP capabilities.
- Inkscape (Open-source) – Useful for vector design, though not optimized for DTF printing.
- PrintFab (Free Trial) – Offers limited RIP functionality.
Alternative Workarounds
- If you don’t need white ink control, you can use Epson’s standard print drivers to print directly from Photoshop, GIMP, or CorelDRAW.
- Some people modify older versions of Acrorip or use cracked software, but I don’t recommend that for security and legality reasons.
For full white ink control and film separation, a proper DTF RIP software is usually required.
